Benjamin Whitaker (politician)

Benjamin "Ben" Charles George Whitaker (b.15 September 1934) is a retired British Labour Party politician.

He was elected at the 1966 general election as Member of Parliament (MP) for the normally Conservative seat of Hampstead. At the 1970 general election, he was defeated by the Conservative Geoffrey Finsberg. The result is thought to have been affected by a far-left candidate standing with the support of Margaret Gardiner.

From 1969 to 1970, he was Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Overseas Development.
